The Comic Strip

From time to time my plants do talk to me in ways that bring about ironic situations.  And if I move fast enough I can compose a comic strip around the images I think of and can imagine.  Since I am not an illustrator I use photographs from my own garden, and try to tell the story that way.  The plants over the time have decided to call me 'their man' or 'the man'.  Some times they get the best of me, other times I have to put them in their place.  Many times there's a point of ironic humor thrown in on the side.  Over the years the name of the comic has changed due to different problems.

  • Hosta & Gnomes; or Gnomes and Hosta.
  • Hosta and ... ?
  • Hosta and something
  • The Hosta Revolution

Readers might also note that the labeling of the cartoon may not match this sites pages names for them.  This is because I relabeled them as I uploaded them to this site.

All photography is done by Andrew Dunn.  Composition and storytelling done by myself.

If there's a illustrator out there, who lives in the Minneapolis/St. Paul/Bloomington (yes TriCity area) area of Minnesota, maybe we could bring a little life into these plants.  Leave a note through the Home Page of this site.

These files are being posted via ,png format.  At this time (May 2017) the images may be slightly off scale as I've yet to totally understand how to change a scale of an image proportionately.  That too will be learned and when it is; these presentations will better.
