In 2012 I had asked my mother if I could have some of her Dancing Queen. It is unknown if she had given me all of hers or just one division. This hosta has a very distinctive ruffle (pie-crusting) on the outer edge.
Early in 2013 some how the topic with my mother came up and she mentioned that she didn't have any Dancing Queen. Now it is possible that her dementia was interfering with her recollection, or the deer had really eatten the whole of it. So I decided to try to give here some of the plant back for Mother's Day. The spliting the hosta was a gardening disaster. and I actually feared that I'ld lose the entire plant. To reduce the chance of losing everything I moved one division to the Loft 101 garden space.
Spring of 2015 came, and nothing came up in the primary garden, but the Loft 101 Collection had preserved it. Since new residents were moving in I couldn't boldly just take the plant back; that might have been perceived to be bit rude. So I went to order more; three divisions. I planted them thinking that one out of three division survival would be acceptable.
2016 came and not only did I get one division to come up but all three spiked and did wonderful things that spring.
2017 Arrived and the oirgininal three divisions have reached 12 spikes. and are now obscuring Hacksaw. The third grouping of Dancing Queen will either be moved, or distrusted to my hosta friends. No offense to my parents they are at the age where gardening is difficult for them at this time.

This hosta has what some might call a classic pie-crust edge on the leaves.
Chaos and Distruction
A dancing queen ... who can't dance would bring chaos to any dance event.
