Hosta By Kelley
This is one of those plants that has come and gone and come again over the years. I think its been in the garden at least 3 times. It was not until early 2017 that I learned that this hosta was classified as "Rare" by the hosta community.
The 2012 planting died due to raised bed conditions.
Honest I don't abuse my plants! The plants that I had during 2016 died due to winter storage conditions in south central Minnesota. I was more than a little mythed at their loss. The plants had been doing absolutely GREAT in the planter before winter came, and I had great hopes of keeping the growth going for 2017.
The 2017 order will be split between a planter, and the raised bed in the hopes that something survives.
According to the HostaLibrary.org the name translates to read "gold-margined, very small hosta". If the dimensions are being reported correctly this would make for a tight contender for the smallest hosta being that Itsy Bitsy Spider is also considered to be one of the smallest hosta known.
8/23 Savory's came through and sent me two more. One's going in a planter, and the other's going in the Raised Bed. Both divisions look wonderful. They look suspiciously like full rounds.
